Galcon Dynamic Pressure Management – Beyond Pressure Reduction  >>

Real water loss is estimated at up to 60% of all NRW (Non-Revenue Water). This makes limiting water leakage a strategic target for any water utility. Pressure management has been proven as the most cost-effective method to lower leakage.

Pressure reduction technologies and devices have been around for some time. However, these mainly offer a static solution. G-DPM is a Dynamic Pressure Management System designed to provide real dynamic control, constant feedback and powerful management capabilities.

With G-DPM, utilities can optimize water pressure and significantly reduce water leakage, helping to lower revenue losses and improve operations.

G-DPM dynamically adjusts pressure levels so that service requirements are maintained at all times while leakage from both visible and invisible leaks is minimized. Furthermore, G-DPM’s advanced control and communications capabilities ensure utilities improve the overall operational performance.

Galcon G-DPM offers a unique approach to Dynamic Pressure Management. It is a fully integrated system that combines best-of-breed Pressure Controllers with a sophisticated web-based IT  management application. This powerful combination ensures full control and monitoring of the system, as well as advanced optimization and history-based data analysis for long-term improvement.

Key features and benefits:

  • Integrated “one-stop shop” solution
  • Management application with sophisticated optimization
  • Web-based interface for secure access from anywhere at anytime
  • Intelligent controller with remote programmable features
  • Automatic optimization and updating of pressure policy
  • Analysis, reporting and data gathering to support critical decision-making processes
  • Full professional services package: planning, implementation, on-going monitoring
  • Support of both ASP and on-site implementation models

Web-Based Management:

A central application that automatically calculates and updates the optimal pressure policy. It applies to the system level as well as to each DMA independently. Based on sophisticated adapting algorithms, the system ensures that at any time the lowest pressure is maintained while required service levels are sustained.

  • Galcon’s web-based management module guarantees that the water pressure is kept at the service level defined by the utility, regardless of demand levels (low to high).
  • Advanced optimization, history-based data analysis and a “learning” solution enable an on-going and constant process of improvement.
  • Policy is downloaded to the controllers via GPRS communication
  • Extensive reporting features include water audits and other critical decision-making information
  • Operational tools help utilities enhance their understanding and management of the network.
  • A ubiquitous web-based interface provides secure access from any point through any Internet connection.

Pressure Controller

At the heart of the G-DPM is Galcon’s state-of-the-art controller that operates with any pressure reducing valve equipped with a hydraulic pilot. The controllers can operate in 3 different modes enabling flexible and easy definition of the pressure management policy. Highly accurate and virtually maintenance-free, our pressure controllers can be programmed remotely. All controllers ensure that the optimal pressure policy for the DMA is maintained at all times, even in cases of communication failure. Each controller constantly collects data and communicates with the management application, thus providing valuable input from the field for operational purposes.
